Oh, my lovelies, it’s officially winter time and boy, does it feel like it! It’s cold, it’s rainy, it’s snowy. You’re basically freezing to death, but yet there’s still something comforting about it all. Maybe it’s the feeling that comes from warming yourself up with a hot cup of Joe (or a glass of wine), putting on those fleece pjs, cuddling up in that bulky knit blanket, and binge watching your favorite show on Netflix! Doesn’t that sound glorious?!
Of course it does! I mean, how sweet would it be if we could make like bears and hybernate all winter long? (Don’t mind me as I sit here daydreaming about it ahhhhh). But sadly, that’s not the case. Which means we’ll all actually need to go out into the world at some point…in that cold, rainy, snowy weather.
Now, although I’m not a fan of freezing my buns off, I am a fan of winter fashion. There’s just something about oversized sweaters and thick wool coats that makes my heart pitter patter. If I’m honest with myself, I’m pretty sure its because I can easily hide my ever so predictable weight gain under them. (Hey, what can I say? I’m a sucker for all the comfort foods, can you say Homemade Mac N Cheese???? mmmmm).
But, in all honesty, I really love my winter wardrobe. I love playing with color combos and prints and definitely have a few I’m obsessed with. Of course you have your staples that are always in style like black and gray, but there’s also more you could be wearing during this time of year. And truly, it’s all about how you wear it. So, if you’re needing some inspo for your closet, here are five colors to wear this winter.
Five Colors to Wear This Winter
Leopard
I don’t know about you, but I am still on this leopard kick! There’s just something effortless about slapping on some leopard (anything) and elevating your look from basic to “hey, how you doin?”
Bright Pops of Color
I love bright colors, in general! And naturally, I always wear them during the summer. But, there’s something about wearing them during the winter that makes it so unexpected and fun. Paired with black, it’s extra chic and fabulous.
All black
Timeless. You truly can’t go wrong with an all black ensemble. No, you’re not going to a funeral (well, I hope not!), it’s just such a chic look for the winter. Shoot, I’d even go all black during the summer (with a fabulous tan, it looks amazing!).
Pink Anything
Ok, full disclosure: Pink is my favorite color!!! There I said it. But, moving past that, pink is a great winter color. It’s soft and delicate hue is a perfect distraction from the gloomy and depressing weather. And, another great look that’ll transition into spring easily.
Head-to-Toe Neutrals
I love neutrals, especially when they’re head to toe! Tans, creams, whites, even grays…neutrals are very much on trend this season and can easily be transitioned into your spring wardrobe. Gotta love that!
