Spring has sprung! Lol just kidding but I can’t wait until it does. I think I’ve legit spent the whole winter cooped up inside, sick as a dog and hiding from all the rain we’ve had! Damn the rain….and tiny people germs! My daughter started preschool this past September and I swear she’s brought home just about every germ known to man! She’s been sick like 4 or 5 times already. Which means I’VE been sick 4 or 5 times.
Sooooo, yea, I’m over the rain, the cold, being stuck inside…all that. I want fresh blooms, sunny days, getting back out there in the world doing fun stuff and of course, some fun spring fashion! This year’s spring trends are all over the place and I love it! Neutral palettes (yes, neutrals are still in!), colorful fringe, tie dye! There’s definitely a trend for everyone. So, here are my favorite spring trends and how you’ll be seeing me wear them this season.
My Fave Spring Trends and How to Wear Them
Neutrals
Still one of my fave trends, head-to-toe neutrals is where it’s at! Think all gray, blush, tan, or white. Or any other neutral shade you love!
Polka Dots
Polka dots galore! Big ones, little ones, pink ones, white ones…doesn’t matter! This very girly look is all the rage this spring. Sport it via rompers, dresses, skirts, tops and even denim shorts.
Ruffled Tops
Love me some ruffles! Ruffled blouses are in full effect this spring. Whether it’s a casual look or work style, you can’t go wrong with a very feminine ruffled blouse. This one pictured would be so cute with a white pair of pants/jeans and some cute floral chunky heels.
Pale Blue, Lavender, Magenta & Bright Orange
Definitely a color for everyone, from pastels to much brighter colors, you’ll find so many cute tops, maxi dresses, rompers, and mini dresses. If you’re more of a pastel gal, then switch it up this season with these brighter colors. Or, vice versa. Or stick to what you love…hey, it’s fashion…there are no rules!
Neon
Because the 80’s will never die!!!!!!! Oh, sorry! Just wigged out a little lol So excited about this trend. I already love bright colors for summer and you can’t get any brighter than neon, am I right? Bodycon dresses, tops, or even pants…sky’s the limit with this trend.
Tie Dye
Tie dye is back!!! And I just love this pastel version! But any version is great! Wear it via maxi dresses, t-shirts, headbands, bags, or even bathing suits, and you’ll totally be on trend!
Mixed Patterns
A fun new way to wear all the prints you love in one! Really big this season for midi and maxi dresses. Snag a dress with your fave prints and pair it with some muted heels (like a nude color) to avoid a super busy look.
Color Blocking
Whether it’s black, white & gray or brighter colors like this fab cardigan, color blocking is big this season. Dresses, tops, pullovers, and of course, cardigans are where you’ll mostly see this trend. Add some bright accessories for a fun look!
Colorful Fringe
Yup, fringe is in! And colorful fringe, at that! Mostly in dresses, but you’ll also find it on jackets (which I love) and of course, bags! Avoid wearing clothing with fringe on areas you don’t want accentuated as it will make you look bigger than you want. Personally, I love fringe up top like on the neckline or hem of a dress and the lapels & sleeves of a jacket.
Single Cold Shoulder
Last year it was all about the double cold shoulder, but this year we’re hiding one of those bad boys for a one cold shoulder look. You’ll find this look in tops and dresses galore. And there are tons to shop from like this top that can be worn out and about or even at work with a great pencil skirt!
Zebra
Although leopard is still going strong, pretty soon it will have to step aside for zebra print. Popular in dresses, tops, bathing suits, cover ups, and even hair scarves, you won’t have any problem finding some zebra to add to your spring wardrobe.
