So Easy. So quick. SO DELICIOUS! This goat cheese appetizer is one of my go-to recipes for when I throw a holiday party or when I attend one. It’s so simple to make and the flavor combos are incredible! And might I add the colors are PERFECT for the holidays!
I first made this appetizer a few years ago for Christmas. My in-laws were hosting that year and asked us all to bring something to eat. I didn’t have much time to go all out on a “make it yourself from scratch including the dough because you’re Martha Stewart” type of recipe, soooo I came up with this one. I brought it to their house and they loved it! I can’t tell you how fast it went. I mean of course it did, right? Goat cheese, pesto, sun-dried tomatoes…what’s not to love about it? So now I make it every year. It’s kind of become my own little tradition. And isn’t that what the holidays are all about? 🙂
So without further delay, here is the recipe (if you can call it that lol). This recipe can easily be doubled or tripled or quadrupled (and so on lol) 😉
The Best Goat Cheese Appetizer for the Holidays
INGREDIENTS
Serves 8 people
- 1 8 oz log of goat cheese
- 1/2 cup (more or less) of pesto (store bought or homemade)
- 1 8 oz jar of julienned sun-dried tomatoes
- 2 boxes of crackers (any kind will do)
NOTE: use your favorite brands of these items
DIRECTIONS
Place the goat cheese log in the center of the plate. Place the sun-dried tomatoes around the log like a ring. Top the goat cheese with pesto (as much as your little heart desires. I like to create a little well down the center of the log so it can hold more pesto). Place the crackers around the edge of the plate (but fair warning, if the sun-dried tomatoes have a lot of residual oil the crackers will get soaked in it, so try to drain them as best you can before plating). Serve and enjoy!
Happy Holidays, lovelies and Happy Eating!
